Port information – St. Petersburd
The port is located on the islands at the mouth of the River Neva, east of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea.
The coordinates of the port are 59 grad. 54 min. to the north and 30 grad. 15 min. to the east. The port consists
of five basins: Eastern, Barochny, Passenger, Lesnoy Mol Roadstead and Coal Harbour - covering 360 hectares. The
territorial area covers 269 hectares and is connected to the sea by a channel which is 27 miles long.
Port Authority of Saint-Petersburg
Port Authority of Saint-Petersburg is the state organization, performing functions:
- Provide for the safety and all year round navigation in the water area of the St- Petersburg Sea port.
- Supervise laws of Russian Federation, rules and international agreements on merchant shipping.
- Registrate ships and issue proper documents on behalf of the State.
- Supervise technical operation of port structures and facilities, their reconstruction and repair.
- Realize port development, construction of new port facilities.
- Realize the environmental control in the St-Petersburg Sea port water area.
- Consult on licencing of certain maritime activities and control licensed companies activities.
- Certify marine officers responsible for the safety of navigation and issue proper documents.
- Lease the state property and control its effective usage.
