Eastwind Maritime Inc. was founded in 1987. All of its shareholders are current or former employees of the Company.
Today Eastwind owns more than 60 ships, and its commercially managed fleet totals about 100. Growth has been rapid over
the past few years: At the start of 2003 we owned 33 ships and managed an additional 25.
The four segments of our fleet are refrigerated carriers including freezers, dry bulkers including lakers, oil product and
chemical tankers and container ships. Within the refrigerated sector, we are the second-largest shipowner and one of the four
largest operators. Most of our recent growth, however, has been in the product tanker and container shipping sectors.
The majority of our ships are technically managed by our subsidiary Eastwind Shipmanagement and our affiliate Norbulk (Hellas) S.A.,
which is jointly owned with Norbulk Shipping (UK) Ltd. Our crews are largely provided by our manning companies in Myanmar,
Russia and Georgia.
Apart from the headquarters in New York City, Eastwind's major offices are in Tokyo, Singapore and London.
In addition, we have offices in Stockholm, Shanghai and Kaliningrad.
